Ingredients:
Name | Metric | US | TIP | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Frozen Fruit mix | 300 gr | 2 cups | ||
Chia seeds, plus more if needed | 30 gr | 2 tablespoons | ||
Apple Juice, to taste | 15 ml | 1 tablespoon |
Equipment:
Blender or hand mixer, optional |
Steps:
Thaw the berries in a saucepan on medium heat. When softened, mash with a fork or spatula allowing some chunks to remain.
Remove from the heat and stir in the chia seeds and juice. Keep in mind that different kinds of fruit will yield different textures, flavors, etc. So taste and adjust your jam as needed.
Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes for the chia seeds to gel, stirring once halfway.
Once the jam has cooled to room temperature, transfer it to a jar and store in the fridge for about 2 weeks. The jam will thicken further and become more set once completely chilled. The jam can also be frozen for up to 3 months; thaw in the fridge before using.

Chia Seed Jam with Frozen Fruit
This jam doesn’t taste like traditional super-sweet jams, because it’s made with raw berries and only contains as much sweetener as you want it to. Also use ground chia seeds if you prefer that to the texture of whole chia seeds (it’s just a mouthfeel thing), don’t worry you will not have problems with the jam setting.
